Jasper and McMichaels work as journalists trying to cover up the looming food shortage happening in their village secluded in the mountains. One day, Jasper wakes up in the uncertain forest lingering by his home and from there has to find his way back through the ever changing landscape. Two friends trudge through this mystical place as they are forced to confront of the importance of their village.

Thanks again for joining me today, R.K Gold!

Did you always wanted to be a writer? If not what did you want to be?:
Yes and no. I always loved writing and used to write after school on my grandparent’s computer. The first story I ever wrote was in Arts and Crafts after painting a picture blue, I wrote about how there was a sandcastle washed away by the waves.

When did you first consider yourself a “writer”?
I wrote my first real manuscript March 2014 (my last semester of college). I did not consider myself a real author until I signed my first book deal one year later.

If you were a donut, what kind of donut would you be?
A whiskey dipped timbit so you’re too buzzed to regret eating me.

If you could take a character from your novel on a date, where would you go and what would you both do?
Can I change this to any fictional character? Cause I would date the crap out of Hermoine Granger and we would go to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.

What was the publishing process like for you? If you self-published, what obstacles have you come across in the process of publishing?
I was lucky to find an amazing indie publisher Weasel Press (www.weaselpress.com) they really care about their authors and ensure your creative integrity is never changed. You get the feeling they’re working for you and not the other way around.

What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say?
My next book is Brinwood. It is my first attempt at a thriller. The protagonist (Casper) returns to his hometown to rescue his sister from a violent religious cult.

If you type into Google “Your Name” – what is the first thing that comes up?
My website, then my twitter, then my first book (Just Under the Sky) then my author profile on Poets and Writers.

Do you have any future books planned or in mind?
I have 10 manuscripts written (3 edited—the ones with deals). My plans are to edit the remaining 7. It’s tough though because I just keep procrastinating by writing new ones.

If you could be any part of a happy meal, which part would you be? (i.e hamburger? French fries? The free sundae?)
The toy—fun for a few minutes then lost for 10 years and one day in a car the person who played with me would remember how awesome I was and wish they were a kid again.

Do you have a certain routine you have for writing?
I write 2500 words a day when I am working on a new manuscript. Editing varies but I never stop editing mid scene. My other routine is I have to read at least 50 pages a day.

How did you feel knowing more than just yourself would be reading your work?
Wait other people read my books!?

Who was the first person to ever read a story/poem of yours?
I’m not sure who the first person was, but I first met one of my best friends because of writing. She runs a book review blog and picked up a copy of  Just Under the Sky. Actually everyone should check out her site http://christiewrites.weebly.com/. She is very active on there.

How do you come up with characters names and place names in your books?:
I just take my dog Logan for walks and by the time the walk is over my brain won’t turn off. If anyone is looking for the secret to writing, get a dog.

Your favorite singer/group is?:
I can’t say they are my favorite but I listen to Rage Against the Machine before writing.

Your favorite color is?:
Purple

Wow! I wish I could say that I write up to 2500 words a day! Whatever you're doing, I need to try myself! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer all of these questions, and coming to my blog today!
